For episode 10, we were joined by Happy Hour's very own Head of Creative, Matt Cooper.

From leading big ideas to championing the creative team every step of the way, Matt’s brought the energy, the vision, and a whole lot of creative firepower since joining the team 18 months ago.

We were keen to get Matt on the podcast to discuss his experience shooting overseas with WaterAid, filming with big-time stars for Arsenal, and his opinion on ‘The Extraordinary Cost of Dull’ advertising.

Vix is an incredibly successful freelance stylist who has worked with us on commercials for the likes of Lyle & Scott, NFU Mutual and Toolstation.

We were delighted to get Vix in the office to hear her insights on working in the industry and the challenges she faces in her role.

For episode 8, we were joined by Camera Operator & Drone Pilot Abi Thomas.

Abi is an incredibly successful freelance camerawoman who has worked on the likes of Blue Planet, Asia and Planet Earth.

Having worked at Happy Hour as a runner early on in her career, we were delighted to get Abi back in the office to discuss her amazing progress and future goals.

Ep. 07 - Michael Wright, Director

For episode 7, we were joined by Happy Hour director Michael Wright.

Michael has been directing commercials for over thirty years and has been with us since 2011, so we thought he'd be the perfect guest to talk everything TV advertising.

Most recently, he has worked with us on projects for the National Trust and Pure Cremation.

Ep. 06 - Freya Billington, Head of Film School

For episode 6, we were joined by Freya Billington.

Freya is the Head of Bristol's Film School, Boomsatsuma, where she teaches filmmaking and consults on teaching filmmaking.

She was awarded a HEA National Teaching Fellowship in 2015 and was previously Programme Leader for Film Production at the University of the West of England and the University of Gloucestershire.

For episode 5, we were joined by Angharad Rees Williams - a Business Manager at ITV Wales & West.

For episode 4, we were joined by award-winning composer Will Brown.

Will has regularly had his work featured on platforms including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky, National Geographic, Viasat and Channel 5, and he has worked with a number of high profile brands such as McDonalds, Barclays, Fosters and Nordea.

For episode 3, we were joined by commercials director Elle Dimond.

Elle's clients include the likes of Fujifilm, Habitat, Women's Aid and Pukka Herbs.

As a Bristol-based creative, it was only natural to get Elle on the podcast.

Jonathan is an experienced, audience-focused radio broadcast professional, whose work includes presenting on most dayparts and various types of programme for commercial radio and BBC - nationally, regionally and locally.

Ep. 01 - Tom George, Founder & CEO at Happy Hour

For episode 1, we were joined by Tom George - our very own founder and CEO.

Tom founded Happy Hour in 2003 to focus on commercials and feature film production. We have since grown to become the leading commercials agency outside of London (Campaign Magazine 2025).

In 2015, Tom also founded Principal Film Finance, providing debt finance for Film and TV.
